Dixon Third On FOXSports.com Rankings For Wooden Award

Read the complete story on FOXSports.com, and find Maryland's Dixon ranked third among candidates for the Wooden Player of the Year Award.

Juan Dixon and his Maryland teammates appear bent on taking a whole lot of momentum with them into their Feb. 17 rematch with Duke.

The Terps have won five games in a row since their 99-78 loss to the Blue Devils in Cameron Indoor Stadium on Jan. 17.

And the 6-foot-3 Dixon - elevated to the No. 3 spot in this week's FOXSports.com John R. Wooden Award candidates' rankings - seems to be revving up his game to an even higher level than he's played at before during his remarkable three-plus seasons under coach Gary Williams.

Dixon was held to 10 points, missing seven of nine field-goal attempts, in the loss at Duke last month.

But he has averaged 22 points per game since that defeat, hitting 15 of 34 3-point attempts in that stretch, while also averaging four steals per game.

Maryland is next in action Sunday in Chapel Hill for a game with the Tar Heels that will be nationally televised by Fox Sports Net (6:30 p.m.). The Terps will host Georgia Tech on Wednesday, Feb. 13 in College Park.
