Wilcox Appreciation Day In Hometown

WHITEVILLE, N.C. - The last two months have been some of the busiest and most exciting of Chris Wilcox's life.
The 19-year-old has won an NCAA championship as a starter on the Maryland basketball team, declared his intentions to jump to the NBA following his sophomore season, and along with his teammates and coaches, met President Bush at the White House.
But none of that could quite compare with what happened on Sunday, when Wilcox returned to Whiteville High. Just miles away from his hometown of Chadbourn at the school where he won a state 2-A championship as a junior, one of Columbus County's favorite sons was treated to loads of adoration on "Chris Wilcox Appreciation Day."
