The No. 17/15 Maryland basketball team takes on the No. 19/20 Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Wednesday at 9 p.m. in Winston-Salem. Fans can follow the Terrapins as they put their 14-game ACC win streak on the line in a matchup that will be aired on UPN-20 in Washington, D.C., and WB-54 in the Baltimore area.

New national statistics were released on Tuesday by the NCAA office, with the Terrapins listed throughout the rankings:

  • The Maryland basketball team leads all NCAA squads in terms of field goal percentage defense, holding opponents to .353 shooting on the season.
  • The Terrapins are second in the nation in assists, averaging 19.7 per game as a team. Georgia is currently the NCAA leader, with 19.9 apg. Senior point guard Steve Blake currently ranks ninth in the country with a 7.3 assist per game average.
  • The Terps rank second in the NCAA in blocked shots, with a 7.9 rejections per game average. Connecticut is the national leader with 8.2 blocks per game.
  • Maryland is currently ranked fourth in the nation with an 11.7 steals per game average. The Terrapins trail only East Tennessee State (13.6 spg), Georgetown (13.3 spg) and Alabama-Birmingham (12.6) for the national lead.
  • At +20.7 points per game, Maryland's scoring margin ranks fourth in the NCAA.
  • The Terps' scoring offense ranks ninth in the nation at 84.1 points per game.
  • The Terrapins' 3-point percentage of .399 ranks 22nd in the NCAA.
