* The Maryland basketball team (No. 25 USA Today/ESPN, RV AP) downed the EA Sports All-Stars for the fourth time in four years at Comcast Center on Wednesday. The Terps had beaten the All-Stars in Comcast Center on Nov. 19, 2002 (95-60), and in Cole Field House on Nov. 2, 2001 (98-80) and Nov. 15, 2000 (91-55).
* The Terrapins' starting lineup of senior center Jamar Smith, sophomore forwards Nik Caner-Medley and Travis Garrison, and sophomore guards Chris McCray and John Gilchrist marks the youngest Maryland starting squad since the 1999-00 season. That year, freshman point guard Steve Blake joined sophomore guard Juan Dixon, sophomore forward Danny Miller, junior forward Terence Morris and sophomore center Lonny Baxter as the Terps' regular starting-five.

He also had seven rebounds, four assists and four blocks in 30 minutes of action.
*Gilchrist had a strong all-around game, notching 16 points on 7-of-8 shooting, while picking up 8 assists and 7 rebounds. Garrison led the Terps on the glass, grabbing a team-high 11 boards and helping Maryland outscore the All-Stars 52-24 in the paint.
*Gilchrist scored six points in a 10-2 first half run to stake Maryland to a 24-14 lead with 10:34 remaining in the first half. After stretching the lead to 40-24 at the 3:34 mark of the half, the Terps withstood a 15-2 run by the All-Stars that closed the margin to 42-39 at the break. However, Maryland opened the second half with a 10-2 spurt to regain a double-digit lead. Once the All-Stars cut the lead to 66-62, Maryland went on an 8-1 run and cruised the rest of the way.
