COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
The Maryland-Wake Forest men's basketball game, originally scheduled for Sunday but postponed because of the winter storm that hit the local area, has been rescheduled to be played today (Monday, Feb. 17) at 5 p.m. at Comcast Center.
The decision was made by the ACC to follow the league policy set forth in 1996, which states that "the only reason a game should be postponed is for travel conditions that affect the safety of the involved teams. Inconvenient travel, which alters normal pre-game routines, or poor attendance is not an acceptable reason to postpone a game. If both teams and officials can get to the site, the game should be played."
Fans are advised that the only available places to park will be in the Terrapin Trail Garage and Regents Drive Garage on campus. Parking permits for those lots will not be necessary; they will be open to all ticket holders for today's game. Normal parking lots are not expected to be cleared of snow. In addition, walkways leading to the arena may not be cleared.
All tickets for the regularly scheduled game, including student tickets, will be honored for today's contest.
The game, which was originally scheduled to be televised nationally on Fox Sports Net, will not be televised due to scheduling conflicts.
Information regarding a live radio broadcast is forthcoming.
