  • The Maryland basketball team (No. 10 AP, No. 9 USA Today/ESPN) recorded an 85-58 victory, defeating Loyola for the eighth time and for the first time since 1994. The Terps, who ran out to a an 18-2 lead in the first 6:44 of the game, move to 14-4 on the season. Loyola falls to 4-15.

  • All 13 of the Terps saw playing time for the fourth time this season and for the first time since Jan. 8, 2003, when the Terps beat Hampton, 108-58.

  • The Terps' earned their fifth straight victory overall, their eighth straight at home, and their fourth straight over a non-conference opponent. Maryland has won 10 of its last 11 games overall and now owns an 11-1 record in their state-of-the-art Comcast Center.

  • Maryland coach Gary Williams logged the 495th win of his career, and is now just five wins from 500. He is the 20th-leading active coach in America in terms of victories, and is 97-2 (.980) against non-league opponents in College Park and 7-1 (.875) against non-conference foes at Comcast Center.

  • As a team, the Terrapins have defeated the eight non-conference opponents by an average of 31.1 points in Comcast Center.

  • The Terps' 27-point margin of victory marked the 11th time this season that Maryland downed an opponent by 15 points or more.

  • Senior guard Drew Nicholas scored 10 of his 15 points in the first half. Nicholas finished the game shooting 6-for-11, and has scored in double-figures in 17 games - all but one this season. Nicholas leads the Terps and is currently fourth in the ACC in scoring.

  • Senior All-America candidate Steve Blake dished 10 assists and added eight points for the Terps' winning effort. He now needs only 11 points to reach 1,000, and he needs 124 assists to become the Terps' first 1,000 point/1,000 assist man in history. Blake totals 21 career games of double-digit assists.

  • Senior Ryan Randle was 7-for-9 from the field and 3-for-4 from the free throw line to finish the contest with 17 points. It marked the highest scoring total for Randle since he netted 21 against Wagner on Jan. 4. Randle has scored in double-figures in 11 games this season, after scoring in double-digits once last season as a junior transfer.

  • Junior Jamar Smith's scored 10 total points of 5-of-8 shooting. He is currently riding a ten-game scoring streak and averages 7.6 points in his last seven outings.

  • Freshman Travis Garrison played 19 minutes for the Terps and scored eight points - the most since he scored eight vs. UMBC Dec. 23, 2002. He also added three rebounds and two blocked shots.

  • Sophomore Andre Collins played six minutes and scored six points in his first action since the Florida State game on Jan. 11.
