COLLEGE PARK, Md. -
Maryland basketball fans have an opportunity to catch a live taping of the Gary Williams TV Show on Tuesday at the Greene Turtle Restaurant & Sports Bar in Laurel, Md. The Terrapins' head coach joins longtime "Voice of the Terps" Johnny Holliday, as well as a special guest, as they wrap up the 2002-03 season with the show's final episode before a live audience. Taping will begin at approximately 8 p.m.
The season-ending Gary Williams TV Show will air on Friday, April 11, at 10:30 p.m. on Comcast SportsNet.
Despite losing four starters from the 2002 NCAA championship squad to the professional ranks, Williams led the Terrapins to 21-10 record that included a second place finish in the Atlantic Coast Conference, a 10th consecutive NCAA tournament berth, and a third straight trip to the Sweet 16. The 2002-03 campaign extended Maryland's active school record for 20-win seasons to seven, and marked a school record sixth straight season of a third or better finish in the ACC.
Maryland's Sweet 16 appearance was its 13th overall, fifth in the last six seasons, and seventh over the Terps' run of 10 straight NCAA Tournament appearances since 1994.
