SEATTLE -- We started the day a little later than we are used to. The team had a complimentary buffet at the hotel from breakfast along with many other friendly hotel guests. After breakfast, it was off to shop again.
A big group of us walked down to Pike Street, the main street of Seattle, towards the Fish Market. We stopped at various stores along the way to pick up some souvenirs for our loved ones and most importantly, OURSELVES.
Jennifer Lovecchio, Simone Dekker, Mallory Mahar, Kristin McHugh, Jen Biscoe, Audra Poulin and I all went down to check out the market. It was very different from what we see in the streets of College Park. Beautiful flowers lined the walkways of the market place. The fishermen were busy unloading their recent catches. We then had lunch at the Athenian Inn where a scene from Sleepless in Seattle was filmed.
The view was gorgeous which looked over the water and the many various piers. After a great morning on the streets of downtown Seattle, we headed back to the hotel for treatment and training.
I have held myself back from talking about practice/training because many times, it would just seem boring. But, it was good to get out and knock the ball around. We trained at Washington, aka U-Dub, in their new indoor facility, where has field turf.
After practice came to an end, we decided where to go to dinner. It was a unanimous decision that we would spend our dinner at the Cheesecake Factory. Towards the end of our great meals, we ordered our desserts - mostly cheesecakes, of course. We figured the bill would set the all-time record for the highest in team history. Sure enough, it was - just over 1,000 dollars for our party of 30 players and staff. Dinner was by far one of the best ones he had in a while.
After some of us checked out the end of the football team's tough loss to Northern Illinois on TV, we headed back to the hotel with our overstuffed stomachs.
We had a team meeting at 8:30 p.m. As it got closer to 9 p.m., coach Shannon let us loose and we rushed to our rooms to watch the season premier of Temptation Island 3. We are all really big reality TV buffs. As I write this, we are watching the show, but I have to give up and watch the show as its difficult to write and watch TV at the same time. So, good night and Go Terps from Seattle.
Also .... I would like to give a shout out to my uncle Tom. Hi Uncle Tom back home.
