Maryland Head Coach Gary Williams
Opening Statement:
"I thought in the first half we got consistently hurt on the glass. They out-rebounded us by eleven. Our starters had three rebounds at half time. We have to be better about rebounding against a team like Wake Forest. I thought their guards were really good. That threesome- they really know how to play basketball. Those three really look for each other and know where to look for each other to penetrate. They are able to get the ball to the open man."

On playing from behind:
"We played well but we got behind and that gets old. We started off well and I thought we could win that game. We got down several time and we've got to learn to handle that. This was a big game today-playing the No. 11-ranked team in the country. It would have been a big win for us if we had got it... We can't be in a situation where that would get in the way of us playing well."

On sophomore guard John Gilchrist:
"I thought John Gilchrist did a very good job. He stayed tough against a very good guard. There are some very good players on that squad and he matched up nicely."

Maryland Forward Nik Caner-Medley
On the Wake Forest rebounding:
"Some of those guys didn't put up numbers points-wise, but I think the effort they made on the boards might have won the game for them. They got a lot of second shots, and that may have been the difference in the game."

On the play of Wake Forest:
"You have to give them a lot of credit. We made a lot of runs and they continued to keep the lead. We closed the margin a few times but we never got on top."

On the remainder of the season:
"What we talked about after the game is staying tight as a team and staying focused. We have two games left and we feel like we need to win both of those games, but we still have a chance. You can't act like you're out of it and hang your head. You have to be a man about it and try to win those two games."

Maryland Guard John Gilchrist
On being a team leader:
"I go out every night and play hard. I bring intensity and play as hard as I can. If that's being a leader, than so be it."

On the role of a point guard:
"I want the ball in my hands, that's the role of a Point Guard. I'm just glad that Coach [Williams] gives me the opportunity to run our offense."

On the Terps' status:
"We've got two games left. If we go two-for-two, we'll be alright."

Wake Forest Head Coach Skip Prosser
Opening Statement:
"I'm really proud of our players. We know what was at stake for Maryland today. At times, it looked like we were trying to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, but somehow we were fortunate enough to persevere and I'm really proud of our players. I think Maryland fought, played well and are obviously an NCAA [tournament-] level team when you look at who they have beat and who they have lost to. When you play teams of this caliber in our conference, they're going to bring out the best in you. I thought in terms of concentration and effort level, they brought out the best in us."

On the streaky nature of the game:
"Basketball is a game of spurts, and often times whoever gets the last spurt wins. Perhaps earlier in the year we might not have responded as well, especially on the road against a team of this caliber. We made some big shots and cold-blooded threes."

Wake Forest Forward Vytas Danelius
On his high scoring performance:
"Our shooting from the three point line was important. I feel that we kept Maryland out of the game with the three-point shot. It's not easy to come on the road and get a win in the ACC. Everyone has been asking me about my ankle [injury]. It was a little sore today, but didn't effect my shooting. I'm really proud of all of the guys today. We all won this one."

Wake Forest Forward Jamaal Levy
On rebounding:
"I went out today like I do every game, and was just aggressive on the boards. It really paid off today and I was able to get a lot of rebounds. It's a tough battle every game in the ACC, so I'm glad we pulled one out today."

Wake Forest Guard Justin Gray
On playing on the road:
"Playing on the road is a challenge in the ACC, especially the Comcast Center. The fans here are very into the game. There were a lot of scoring spurts today, but we were able to rebound well, and Vytas was hitting his shots. I'm just glad to come out with a victory."
