Head Coach Gary Williams
On his team's balanced attack:
"Our defense has a lot to do with that. We have confidence in the fact that if someone on our team misses a shot, it doesn't necessarily mean the other team is going to go down and score. There's less pressure to score when you know your defense is good. Hopefully we can sustain it."
On the quick turnaround between beating Georgia Tech and the matchup at Clemson:
"We did a good job with our intensity level against Georgia Tech after beating the No. 2 team in the country on their court. Now we have to do it again at Clemson. Hopefully we can. This is an unusual situation - playing at home, having one day to travel then playing the next day."
On the squad's defense:
"Chris McCray and John Gilchrist have been playing good individual defense. And we've also been playing good team defense. If we do make a mistake individually, the team is there to back it up. That's how you play good defense. Our players have done a good job of seeing where they can help."
On the play of point guard John Gilchrist:
"The thing about John is that he's very strong, that's one of his assets. These guys are 20 or 21 years old, and if you're good enough at the end of the year to make the NCAA Tournament, you have to be ready to play two games in three days against good teams. You're seeing how good John is as a basketball player. What he did yesterday against two really good guards was a great show. I hope people appreciated everything he did out on the court. He had to come out and play good defense and not foul and he did a good job with that."
On Chris McCray's performance against the Yellow Jackets:
"Chris made some big plays, there's no doubt about it. Like I told him, he's going to play and he's proven he's a good player. The shots are starting to drop for him. He gets his looks and I want him to shoot the ball. He's bothered a lot of good players with his size."
On guard Sterling Ledbetter:
"I was happy for Sterling because he's worked hard in practice. He was good yesterday and what I liked was that he wasn't nervous. He did a great job."
