Maryland Gymnastics defeated Rutgers, Temple and SUNY Brockport Friday night, scoring a 192.475. Rutgers finished second with a 189.550, Temple notched a 188.950 and SUNY Brockport scored a 180.800.
Rachel Martinez finished first on vault (9.70) to lead the Terps to victory in that event (48.075). Angie Ferg notched a 9.625 and Gretchen Kittelberger scored a 9.600.
Rachel Colon had a strong performance on uneven bars (9.725), finishing first overall. Mandy Pascual and Martinez both scored 9.650 (second-place overall) to give the Terps a first-place finish on uneven bars (48.125).
Alex Gatch and Martinez tied for first-place overall on balance beam, giving Maryland the win (48.025).
Floor Exercise proved to be the Terp's best event of the night. Martinez took first-place, with a 9.750. Marisa St. Louis had an outstanding routine, scoring a 9.700. Ginny Scott added a 9.650 to give Maryland the win on floor (48.250).
Martinez finished first in the all-around, notching a 38.775 and Kittelberger was fourth with a 37.375.
Maryland improves to 7-7 on the season and will face Pittsburgh, February 19 at 7 p.m.
The Terps will return home, Wednesday, Feb. 23 against George Washington at 7 p.m.
