
Terps To Host NIT Second Round Action On Wednesday At 8 p.m.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's basketball team has been granted a home game for the second round of the National Invitation Tournament (NIT), to be played on Wednesday, March 23, at Comcast Center (time TBA). The Terrapins will take on the winner of Saturday's Davidson/SW Missouri State first round contest. Television information will be announced as soon as it is known.
Should the Terrapins win on Wednesday, they will likely host a NIT third round game on Saturday at Comcast Center.
On Wednesday in first round action, the Terrapins closed the first half with a 24-4 run and pulled away in the second period for an 85-72 victory before more than 7,400 fans in College Park. Junior forward Travis Garrison led four double-figure scorers with an 18-point, 11 rebound double-double effort, while guard Mike Jones made his third-career start, drilling three 3-pointers en route to an 18-point effort. Sophomore center Will Bowers tallied a career-high 14 points, while junior guard Sterling Ledbetter netted 10 points, grabbed nine boards and dealt five assists in his first career start.
Tickets for the NIT games as Comcast Center are on sale for $25, which includes a parking fee. Parking will be available in most Comcast Center lots, and arriving fans will be directed toward the available lots on game night.
STUDENT FANS can claim tickets online at www.tickets.umd.edu. The Department of Athletics is providing 4,000 free tickets to the student body.
ALL OTHER FANS (non-students, season ticket holders, and non season ticket holders) can purchase Terps' tickets in one of four ways:
Walk-up sales will occur at the Comcast Center ticket windows as long as tickets remain. This weekend, the ticket windows will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
