  • The No. 12/14 Maryland men's basketball team kicked off the New Year with a 99-73 win over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Wednesday night at the Comcast Center. The Terps move to 11-2 overall while the Islanders fall to 10-5.

  • Tonight marked the first time in series history that Maryland and Texas A&M-Corpus Christi have played.

  • The Terps are a perfect 9-0 at Comcast Center this season and have won 12 straight dating back to last year. Maryland has won 29 straight non-conference home games. Under head coach Gary Williams, Maryland is now 116-2 in non-conference home games.

  • Williams improved to 345-180 at Maryland and is now just four wins shy of becoming the program's all-time winningest coach. Charles "Lefty" Driesell is currently at the top of the list with 348.

  • Maryland scored seven points in the opening :21 seconds (Nik Caner-Medley, five)

  • With the score tied at 25 with 4:46 to go in the first half, the Terps went on a 23-5 run to close the period up by 18. Chris McCray led the Terps during the spurt with eight points.

  • Tonight marked the fourth straight game in which Maryland has held its opponent to under 30% shooting in the first half.

  • The Terps scored over 80 points for the eighth time in 12 games this season. Maryland is 8-0 in those games.

  • Tonight was Texas A&M-CC's most lopsided loss of the season (26 points).

  • Maryland is now 11-0 when attempting more free throws than its opponent.

  • Tonight was the sixth game that the Terps made more free throws than their opponent attempted.

  • The Islanders committed 24 turnovers, the most all season by a Maryland opponent.

  • Maryland made a season-high 14 steals.

  • All 12 players saw the court for the Terps.

  • Nik Caner-Medley scored a season-high 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting. It matched Maryland's team season-high (Travis Garrison, 23 vs. Western Carolina).

  • Nik Caner-Medley moved into 24th place on Maryland's all-time scoring list with 1,250 career points. He surpasses Lee Brawley, who amassed 1,244 points from 1949-52.

  • Chris McCray reached double figures in scoring (16) for the 12th time in 12 games played this year and 15th consecutive contest dating back to last season.

  • Chris McCray grabbed a season-high seven rebounds.

  • Nik Caner-Medley is averaging 16.5 points per game over the last four contests on 63.4% shooting (26-of-41).

  • Gini Chukura scored a career-best four points, including the first three-pointer of his career.
