The University of Maryland women's cross country team placed 10th at the ACC Championships hosted by the University of Virginia, today.
Junior Meghan Braffet placed 18th, with a time of 22:01.80 in the 6k race. The Carlock, Ill. native just missed the top-14 spot, which would have made her an All-ACC performer.
Laurel Jefferson was the second Terp to finish and placed 36th. The senior ran a 22:39.7.
N.C. State won the team championship, their 20th outright league title in the 29 years of running the women's competition. Four members of the Wolfpack squad finished in the top 13 and earned All-ACC accolades. Julia Lucas of N.C. State won the individual title, running a 20:42.10.
Duke finished in second place with 88 points, followed in third place by Virginia with 104 points. The Florida State Seminoles tallied 118 points to finish in fourth, while Virginia Tech registered 123 points to place fifth. Finishing sixth through 12th were North Carolina (138), Boston College (150), Wake Forest (166), Georgia Tech (194), Maryland (217), Clemson (343) and Miami (384).
The Terrapin women will have a break until Nov. 11, when they head to Lock Haven, Pa. for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional.
