Maryland plays host to Siena on Sunday (Dec. 31) at Comcast Center. Tip-off is set for 1:00 p.m. The game can be heard on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network.
• The Terps carry a mark of 12-2 into the contest, while Siena is 6-4.
• Maryland senior D.J. Strawberry leads the Terps with 15.4 points per game. He is 12th in the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring. Senior center Michael Haddix leads the Saints with 18.6 points per game.
• Sunday's game marks the second meeting between the two schools. Maryland leads the all-time series 1-0. The Terps scored a 85-70 victory over Siena on March 15 in the 2002 NCAA East Region first round at Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., en route to the NCAA Championship.

Maryland has displayed a balanced offensive attack through the first 14 games of the season. The Terps are averaging 80.5 points per game this season and have four players averaging double figures.
• Strawberry leads the team with 15.4 points per game. Mike Jones is averaging 14.2 points per game, while James Gist has tallied 11.4 points per game. Ekene Ibekwe is averaging 10.3 points.
• Jones has led the team in scoring six times this season, while Strawberry has paced the Terps five times this season. Ibekwe has led the Terps in the scoring column on three occasions.

The Terps have made a renewed commitment to defense in 2006-07. Maryland has forced its opponents into an average of 18.6 turnovers per game through 14 games this season.
• The Terps are yielding just 27.9 points in the first half and limiting the opposition to 35 percent shooting from the field. Maryland's opponents are shooting just 27 percent (80-of-296) from three-point range.
• The Terps are averaging 8.1 steals per game and have recorded 109 blocked shots through 14 games.

Maryland recorded a 91-50 victory over Mount St. Mary's on December 28. Senior Mike Jones scored a career-high 29 points in the win. Jones connected on 7-of-13 shots from beyond the arc and also grabbed four rebounds in the win. D. J. Strawberry tied his career high with 20 points in the victory over the Mountaineers. Maryland shot 51 percent (35-of-69) from the field and held the Mount to just 30 percent (19-of-64) from the floor.
• The Terps blocked a season-high 15 shots. Senior forward Ekene Ibekwe set a new career high with eight blocks against the Mount. Junior James Gist tied his career high with five blocked shots.
• Ibekwe passed Larry Gibson for sixth place on the school's all-time blocked shots list. Ibekwe now has 185 career blocks at Maryland. With 10 rebounds against the Mount, Ibekwe moved past Gary Ward into 24th place on the school's all-time rebounding list. He has 620 rebounds during his four years in College Park.
• Freshman Greivis Vasquez tied his season high with eight assists against the Mount. Vasquez set a personal-best with nine rebounds in the win over the Mountaineers.

The Terrapins are in the middle of a seven-game homestand that runs from December 13 to January 13. Maryland will play its final five non-conference games before hosting two Atlantic Coast Conference games against Miami (Jan. 10) and Clemson (Jan. 13). It is the longest homestand for the Terps since the 1976-77 season.

Maryland closes out 2006 against Siena on December 31. The Terps are 50-29 all-time in the last game of a calendar year. Maryland is 12-5 under Williams when closing out the calendar year, including wins in seven of the last eight.
• Maryland is 23-13 in 2006 entering Sunday's game.

Despite preparing for final examinations and participating in prestigious regular season tournaments over the years, Maryland has excelled during the month of December under Gary Williams. His Terrapins have posted an all-time record of 96-32 (.750) in the last month of the calendar.
• Williams guided the Terps to an unblemished mark of 8-0 during December of 2000.

The 2006-07 Terrapins have made their mark on the school's record book in a variety of categories:
• The Terps set school records for most three pointers (17) and three point attempts (37) against UMKC on December 13.
• Maryland's 54 free throw attempts against Hampton was the fourth highest mark in school history. The Terps connected on 39 free throws in that game, which was the fourth best mark in school annals.
• The Terrapins 101-50 victory over UMKC was the 17th largest margin of victory for Maryland.

Maryland has been a dominant home team over the years.
• The Terps are 770-274 (.738) all-time at home dating back to 1923-24.
• Maryland went 14-3 (82.3%) at home last season and is 64-12 (.842) all-time at Comcast Center. The Terps have won 26 of their last 29 at home dating back to 2003-04.
• The Terps are 219-47 (.823) at home under Gary Williams (155-35 at Cole Field House).
• Maryland is 130-19 (.872) at home the last ten seasons (since 1997-98).
• Maryland has won 36 of its last 37 non-conference games at Comcast Center under Williams.
• The Terps are 123-2 (.984) in non-conference home games under Williams.
• Maryland was 476-151 in 47 seasons at Cole Field House; 169-90 in 24 seasons at Ritchie Coliseum and 61-21 in eight seasons at The Gymnasium.
