
Pellizzi Named ACC Player of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Senior Krista Pellizzi was named the Atlantic Coast Conference Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week for her performance last week in Maryland's two wins against UMBC and Boston College. The North Massapequa, N.Y. native had a career game against the Eagles as she matched her career highs in goals, assists, and points.
In the Terrapins' 18-8 win against BC in their home and ACC opener on February 24, Pellizzi paced the offense with five goals, three assists, and eight points. This is the third time in her career that Pellizzi has scored five goals and the fifth time she has dished out three assists. It also the third time she has recorded eight points.
In the Terps' season-opening victory against UMBC on February 19, Pellizzi recorded two goals and assisted on two others as Maryland cruised to a 23-8 win.
Pellizzi currently leads the team with seven goals and 12 points while her five assists is second on the squad.
No. 8 Maryland (2-0, 1-0 ACC) will host No. 2 Duke (4-0, 0-0 ACC) on Saturday, March 3 at noon at Ludwig Field in a crucial early season ACC match up.
