
Strawberry Named ACC Player of the Week

Maryland senior D.J. Strawberry (Corona, Calif./Mater Dei) was named the ACC Player of the Week on Monday (Feb. 26) for the second consecutive week and the third time this season.
Strawberry averaged 18.5 points, 4.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists as the Terps posted wins over Florida State and fifth-ranked North Carolina to run their winning streak to five games. The senior swingman scored 10 points and grabbed our rebounds in Maryland's 73-55 victory over the Seminoles last Wednesday (Feb. 21). He tallied a career-high 27 points, grabbed four rebounds and handed out five assists in Maryland's 89-87 win over North Carolina. He shot 63 percent (17-of-27) from the floor for the week. Strawberry was named ACC Rookie of the Week on December 16, 2003 after helping the Terps post a win over top-ranked Florida.
The Terrapins are 22-7 (8-6 ACC) and close out the regular season this week. Maryland returns to action Wednesday (Feb. 28) when the Terps travel to Duke. The Terrapins close out the ACC regular season at home Saturday (March 3) against NC State at Comcast Center.
