Miscellaneous
Maryland registered regular season sweeps of North Carolina and Duke for the first time since the 1938-39 season, when they went 2-0 against both the Tar Heels and the Blue Devils. They have never swept the two teams since the inception of the Atlantic Coast Conference in 1953.
The Terrapins are the first team to score 80 or more points since North Carolina scored 83 in the Blue Devils' regular season finale last season. That game was March 4, 2006, also at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Maryland scored 44 points in the first half, the most that Duke has given up in the opening frame all season. In their last game, the Blue Devils gave up just 10 points in the first half at St. John's.
Maryland dished out a season-high 25 assists, including a game-high 12 from Greivis Vasquez, who set a new career high.
The Terps shot 7-for-13 from behind the arc, a .538 percentage. It was a significant improvement over their 3-for-12 (.250) long-distance shooting against North Carolina on Sunday.
The Terps outrebounded Duke 39-37.
The Terrapins had just three steals, tied for the fewest thefts this season.
