ST. LOUIS, Mo. -
Senior guard D.J. Strawberry (Corona, Calif/Mater Dei) continued his list of postseason accolades when he was named to the United States Basketball Writers Association All-District Team today. Strawberry earlier this week was named to the all-ACC second team, the first Terrapin to make that squad since Drew Nicholas in 2003.
Strawberry averaged 15.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and recorded a team-high 63 steals during the regular season. He is 11th in the ACC in scoring and fifth in steals per game (2.03).
Earlier this season, Strawberry became just the 45th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau. He is 38th on the school's all-time scoring list and ranks fifth in career steals (196) at Maryland.
The fifth-seeded Terps will face Miami in the first round of the ACC Tournament on Thursday. Tip-off from the St. Pete Times Forum is set for 2:30 p.m.
