COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland junior forward Dave Neal (McLean, Va./Bishop O'Connell HS) was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2007 semester. Neal, who finished his sophomore year with the Terrapins, posted a 3.75 grade point average during the spring semester. He is a criminal justice major in the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences. Members of the Dean's List are required to carry a 3.5 grade point average for a semester.
Neal was presented with the Maryland Basketball Academic Award at the postseason honors banquet on April 19. That award was presented to the Terrapin with the highest grade point average for the year.
As a sophomore during the 2006-07 season, Neal appeared in 27 games. He recorded personal bests in points (eight) and rebounds (eight) against Hampton on November 7. Neal came off the bench and played 14 minutes at NC State, where he chipped in four points and five rebounds in Maryland's 85-70 victory against the Wolfpack. Neal's free throws with 1:09 to play helped seal the Terrapins' victory over Davidson in the first round of the NCAA Tournament.
