
Inside Lacrosse and WomensLacrosse.com Hand Out All-America Awards

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Both Inside Lacrosse and WomensLacrosse.com have named its All-America teams and a number of Terrapins have been honored for their 2007 seasons. Senior Becky Clipp and junior Dana Dobbie were placed on both All-America first teams while senior Krista Pellizzi and junior Kelly Kasper were named to the Inside Lacrosse Second Team and the WomensLacrosse.com Third Team. Freshman Caitlyn McFadden was named to the WomensLacrosse.com All-Rookie Team.
Clipp anchored the Maryland defense and was second on the team with 29 caused turnovers, third with 36 ground balls, and sixth with 20 draw controls. She sealed the win against No. 2 Duke back on March 3 when she drew a charge on the Blue Devils' last possession. She was later named the womenslax.com Player of the Week for her effort.
Dobbie led the team with 79 draw controls and 39 ground balls, was second with 53 goals and 69 points, and third with 24 caused turnovers. She also scored a team-high five game-winning goals.
Pellizzi led the team with 55 goals and 76 points and was third with 21 assists. She also led Maryland with a .505 shooting percentage and 14 free position goals. Her 33 draw controls were second only to Dobbie. Pellizzi was a two-time ACC Player of the Week during the season.
Kasper contributed in every facet of the game in the midfield as she led the team with 31 caused turnovers, was second with 22 assists, and third with 48 points. She was also fifth on the team in draw controls (28), sixth in goals (26), and seventh in ground balls (24).
McFadden made an immediate impact as one of the premier freshman in the country. As a midfielder, she led all freshmen on the team with 18 goals, 17 assists, 35 points, 29 draw controls, 27 ground balls, and 21 caused turnovers. Her draw controls were third on the team and her ground balls were fifth.
