    Hey Everyone!

So another year has started and we have jumped right in to our "boot camp" with two spin classes, three lifts, a pool workout and interval running. We have more conditioning and training this year then ever and enthusiasm to match. Our coaches had some nice gifts during our first official meeting such as new camo tees with this year's slogan "DO WORK" (for all you Rob and Big fans like Brett) and new shoes to get us going. The spin classes have been fun too, however I probably hurt everyone's ears when I try to sing along with whatever tune the instructor is playing. But it's also been so great to hear everyone yelling out encouragement while trying to pedal their little legs off - it makes things fun! Last class we were climbing some intense hills, but we were envisioning nationals at the top so it was worth it.

Its incredible how much the team has connected already. We have five newcomers (four freshmen and a transfer... Lisa wouldn't be happy if I called her a freshman), and I couldn't be happier to have them as teammates. They are all great gymnasts and it looks like they'll be able to add a lot to the team. Not to mention they are great for a laugh.

The sophomores are all back and ready to roll. Mo is just itching to get going in the gym since she is recovering from her surgery at the end of last season, and she looks great. She's also probably the most upbeat person I have ever met and makes us all laugh. Brandi is back with a new release on bars and looks just as solid as always. Talia is working her way back from an injury (as am I) and we had a little bonding experience getting over the nervousness of doing a skill for the first time. Allie is doing great too, her floor routine is awesome (self choreographed) and her tumbling looks great. Candice showed off her huge bar skills the other day and Brenner is gearing up for a new vault.

Now for the "old ladies" as Duke would say... and yes, I now fit into this category. Kelsey's vault is looking so good. It has come so far and it's so cool to watch her progress everyday. She also has such a great attitude and is awesome to have in the gym - always making me laugh between vaults. Gretchen is our resident grad student, managing to graduate in just three years, while continuing to learn and perfect skills in the gym. She's looking great and is ready to go this season. As for me, I'm working my way back from an injury but making progress everyday. I'm so excited about this season because I know, just from what I have seen so far, that it's going to be an awesome one.

I hope the start of your year has been as good as mine. Thanks for reading.

    Lindsey
