COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland head basketball coach Gary Williams will unveil a new web site Thursday (September 6). www.coachgarywilliams.com has been redesigned and will go online later this week. The site will contain historical information on the career of Maryland's all-time winningest coach.
The newly redesigned site will serve as an additional source for fans to find information on Terrapin coaches and players along with photo galleries of Maryland basketball events. It will also provide historical information on Coach Williams' career, as well as provide updates on former Terps and Terrapins playing professionally across the globe.
"As we head into the season, the new web site will really give fans another way to stay current and gain information about our basketball program," said Williams.
In addition, the site will provide information on the Gary Williams boy's basketball camp, annual golf tournament and community service efforts. The new site will also provide schedules for the Gary Williams radio and television shows.
Williams begins his 19th season at his alma matter and 30th as a collegiate head coach in
2007-08. With 585 career victories, he is the seventh-winningest active head coach in Division I basketball. He has guided Maryland to a record of 378-200 (.654) in 18 years as head coach and ranks eighth among active coaches with 16 20-win seasons. Williams guided Maryland to the 2002 NCAA national championship and 2004 ACC Tournament championship.
