Venezuelan Sensation: Guard Greivis Vasquez enjoyed one of his best games as a Terp, tying a career-high with 28 points (previously scored 28 against American on Dec. 22, 2007) while shooting 10-of-17 from the field (59 percent). The junior caught fire from the field midway through the first half, converting 4 of 5 shots to end the opening 20 minutes en route to 16-point first-half performance. His point flurry continued in the second half, as Vasquez finished with Maryland's highest individual point total since James Gist had 31 at Wake Forest on Feb. 28, 2008.

More Vasquez: By adding eight rebounds (one short of his career high) and a game-high four assists, Vasquez paced the Terps in all three categories on Tuesday, becoming the first Maryland player to do so since he did the same against Virginia Tech on Feb. 20 2008 (25 points, nine rebounds and five assists). He also had a game-high four steals. The Terps' reigning All-ACC honoree now has scored in double figures in 29 of his last 30 games.

Streaking Terps: When guard/forward Cliff Tucker hit a pair of free-throws with 7:46 remaining in the first half, he ignited a 14-0 run that stretched Maryland's advantage to 31-16, and the team never looked back. During that streak, Vasquez contributed eight points on a pair of jumpers, a fast-break layup and two free throws, as the Terps held Youngstown State scoreless for 4:41 during that span.

Getting Defensive: Maryland's strong defensive effort continued Tuesday, as the team limited Youngstown State to 18 first-half points. The Terps also induced the Penguins into shooting just 33 percent from the field and committing 23 turnovers. That defensive performance came one game after holding Bucknell to 17 points during the first 20 minutes of last Friday's season-opening 82-51 victory. That game, coupled with Tuesday's win, marked the lowest two-game point total by Maryland opponents since surrendering 46 and 48 points, respectively, to Delaware and Savannah State last season.

Super Sidekick: Vasquez's backcourt mate Eric Hayes complemented the high-scoring guard with 13 points of his own, as Maryland received 41 total points from its starting guards.

That's Comcastic: The Terps now have won 55 of 59 non-conference games since moving into Comcast Center in 2002. The team now stands 87-20 (.813) all-time in games played on its current homecourt.

Milestone Fast-Approaching: Williams, the winningest coach in Maryland men's basketball history, now has 399 career victories as the Terrapins head coach.

Coaching Legend: Now with 606 career victories, Williams remains in sixth place among active NCAA Division I coaches. He stands six wins behind Houston coach Tom Penders (whose squad has three wins thus far this season) for fifth place all-time.

Trey Streak Intact: With freshman Jin Soo Kim's second career 3-pointer midway through the first half, the Terps extended their streak of hitting at least one shot from beyond the arc to 322 consecutive games. Kim added a second trey during the second half, and Vasquez and Hayes also hit 3-point field goals during the game against the Penguins.

Series Record: With its win on Tuesday, Maryland improved to 1-0 versus Youngstown State following the first-ever meeting between the schools.
