NORTHAMPTON, Mass. - The Maryland women's lacrosse team made the most of its unexpected day off on Friday with a little bit of training and a whole lot of fun. To view photos from the day, please click the above link. The Terrapins will get back to business on Saturday when it takes on UMass at noon at McGuirk Stadium before traveling to Waltham to take on Boston College on Sunday.
The Terps' day began with breakfast in the morning upon learning that the snow had pushed back their game to Saturday. The women made the most of it though, as the coaching staff led the team on a walk through town and then trained with a pass and catch drill at an abandoned gas station.
It was time for fun after that as the Terps made their way to the indoor pool with the transparent dome - aka the Fun Dome. With the snow piling on the roof above, sophomore Caitlyn McFadden, a member of her synchronized swimming team in high school, taught her peers a routine.
The Terps then performed their routine for the staff, parents, and strangers sitting around the pool.
Maryland will finally open its 2008 season on Saturday with its noon game at UMass. The Terps will then head east on the Mass Pike following the game to take on Boston College on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Bentley College.
