
Four Terps Earn IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-America Honors

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Seniors Lauren Cohen, Dana Dobbie and Kelly Kasper and sophomore Caitlyn McFadden have been named IWLCA/US Lacrosse All-Americans. Dobbie and Kasper were elected to the first team while Cohen and McFadden earned second team honors.
Cohen was one of the most consistent attackers for the Terps this season as she was second on the team with 49 goals and her 59 points were third. She scored a goal in all 21 games with eight hat tricks and multiple tallies in 17 contests. She ranked sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in goals per game (2.45) and 10th in points per game (2.95).
The Farmingdale, N.Y., product was also fifth on the team in draw controls (22) and caused turnovers (15) and sixth in ground balls (19). Cohen was an All-ACC and ACC All-Tournament team selection.
Dobbie, who is a finalist for the Tewaaraton Trophy, led the country this season in draw controls with 126 which set a new NCAA single-season record as she averaged 6.00 per outing. The Guelph, Ontario product led the Atlantic Coast Conference in goals (70), goals per game (3.33), and draw controls. She was also second in points per game (4.00) behind Kasper. Her goals and goals per game numbers ranked fifth and 15th in the country, respectively.
Dobbie accumulated 334 draw controls in her four years which is also an NCAA record. Her 70 goals this season is the sixth-most ever in a single season at Maryland. She also led the team with 32 caused turnovers and was third with 33 ground balls. She had 15 hat tricks in 21 games and had eight games with eight or more draw controls.
Dobbie was a three-time ACC Player of the Week which led the conference and was named to the ACC Player of the Year for the second-straight season.
Kasper, who becomes the 12th three-time All-American at Maryland and who is also a Tewaaraton finalist, led the Terps with 87 points on 43 goals and 44 assists. Her 44 assists this year rank fifth all-time at Maryland in a single season. She was also second on the team with 52 draw controls and 28 caused turnovers. Kasper had 13 games with multiple assists this season.
She led the ACC in assists (44), assists per game (2.10), points (87), and points per game (4.14). Her assists and assists per game numbers ranked fifth and 10th in the nation, respectively, while her points total ranked ninth.
Kasper ranks fifth all-time at Maryland with 102 career assists and seventh with 244 points.
Kasper was named ACC and Inside Lacrosse Player of the Week this season and was a two-time recipient of the Player of the Week award from WomensLax.com.
McFadden ranked second on the team with 27 assists and added 27 goals for 54 points which ranked fourth on the squad. The Phoenix, Md., native scored a point in 20 of the 21 games for Maryland while recording 10 games with three or more points.
McFadden also ranked third on the team in draw controls (30), fourth in ground balls (31), and sixth in caused turnovers (13). She ranked fourth in the ACC in assists per game (1.29) and was an all-conference selection.
