COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland comes home to Comcast Center for an Inauguration Day matchup with border-state rival Virginia on Tuesday night. The Terps and Cavaliers tip off at 8 p.m., with the game being broadcast locally on WDCA-TV, WNUV-TV, WRDE-DT and WHAG-TV. Pregame on the Terrapin Sports Radio Network begins at 7 p.m. The Terrapins are 12-5 overall and 1-2 in the Atlantic Coast Conference after losing both ends of a two-game trip to Florida, dropping a 62-60 decision at Miami before losing in overtime, 76-73, at Florida State. Virginia is now 7-7 overall and also 1-2 in the league, deadlocked with the Terps and NC State in eighth place in the standings. The Cavaliers have had five days off since an 83-61 home loss to North Carolina on Jan. 15.

    * The Terrapins are 8-3 in their last 11 games, with those three losses coming by a combined six points. Maryland comes into Tuesday's game with a 10-1 record at Comcast Center this season. The Terps were close in both games in Florida, losing road games to opponents who were each receiving votes in both polls and who were each picked recently to make the NCAA Tournament field.

    * Sophomore guard Adrian Bowie improved his career-high from 17 to 23 points with his game-high effort at Miami on Jan. 14. He has scored at least nine points in each of his last five games, including 14 on Saturday at Florida State. He ranks third on the team in scoring with a 10.6 points-per-game average, and has scored 13.4 ppg in his last five games.

    * Junior forward Landon Milbourne has led Maryland in rebounding in each of the last three games (8.3 rpg in that stretch). He tied his career-high with nine on Saturday at Florida State, helping the Terps to a 44-37 edge on the boards against the taller Seminoles. Six of his rebounds were on the offensive glass, including a putback with 22 seconds left at FSU that sent the game into overtime. Milbourne is now second on the team in scoring (12.3 ppg) and rebounding (5.5 rpg) behind Greivis Vasquez.

    * Junior guard Greivis Vasquez continues to be an important part of Maryland's production this season. he leads the team with a 17.1 points-per-game scoring average, a 6.2 rebounding average and a 4.94 assists average. He had a streak of 35 consecutive free throws snapped at Florida State on Saturday, but still ranks as the lone player in the Atlantic Coast Conference with at least 2.5 free throws per game who is hitting better than 90 percent at the line (.915).

    * Maryland and Virginia will meet tonight for the 169th time in men's basketball, with Maryland holding a 102-66 edge in the all-time series. The Cavaliers have won three of the last four meetings, including a 91-76 win on March 9, 2008 in Charlottesville. The Terrapins won, 85-75, in Comcast Center last season (Jan. 30).

    * Virginia is led by 6-foot-6 freshman Sylven Landesberg, who is averaging 17.3 points per game this season. he has already gone to the free-throw line 102 times in 14 games, cashing in at a .824 percentage. He is also second on the team in rebounding with a 5.9 rpg average. Landesberg has led Virginia in scoring in nine games and posted at least 20 points in his first three games as a collegian.

    * Sophomore Mike Scott leads Virginia with an 8.9 rebounds per game average and is second on the team in scoring at 11.6 ppg. He is hitting .574 from the floor this season. Redshirt freshman Sammy Zeglinski is the third Cavalier averaging in double figures at 10.8 ppg and leads the team with 25 3-pointers.

    * Following tonight's game, Maryland travels to Duke for a noon tipoff on Saturday, then comes back to Comcast Center for games on Jan. 27 against Boston College and on Jan. 31 in a rematch with Miami.
