COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Maryland plays its final non-conference game of the regular season tonight when it hosts intrastate rival Morgan State. Maryland is now 11-2 overall and owns a seven-game winning streak. The Terps are 9-0 this season at Comcast Center. The Bears are 5-8 overall and 1-0 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, coming into tonight's game off an 81-67 loss at the University of Washington on Dec. 30.

    * The Terrapins are making the most of their seven-game homestand, having won the first five in this stretch at Comcast. Maryland owns wins over Delaware State, American, Bryant, Elon and Charlotte during the homestand. After tonight's game against Morgan State, the Terps open Atlantic Coast Conference play on Jan. 10 at home against Georgia Tech before playing their first road game of the season on Jan. 14 at Miami.

    * Maryland's seven-game winning streak is the longest since 2006-07, when it finished the regular season with seven straight victories from Feb. 11 through March 3, 2007. The last time the Terps put eight straight wins together was at the start of that same season, beginning that year 8-0.

    * The Terrapins are continuing their strong pace at the free-throw line this season. The Terrapins are shooting at a .795 percentage this season, second in the nation to UC Davis, which is at .809. Greivis Vasquez is fourth in the nation through Sunday's games at .925, with the nation's leader being Darren Collison of UCLA at .976. Vasquez is 49-for-53 at the line this season, including a 25-for-26 effort during Maryland' seven-game winning streak. Maryland's school record for free-throw percentage is .758, set in the 1975-76 season.

    * Maryland has been strong defensively all season, but particularly during the seven-game winning streak. The Terrapins are allowingn opponents just 61.6 points per game overall, but just 58.3 points during the winning streak. The Terps are holding opponents under 40 percent shooting from the floor this year (.397) and a .376 mark in the last seven games.

    * The Terps have been strong against some of the top teams in the nation so far this year. Maryland's only losses have come to Gonzaga, which was ninth at the time, and Georgetown, which is ninth in this week's Associated Press poll. The Terrapins also hold victories this year over Michigan State (eighth in this week's AP ranking) and Michigan, which just dropped from the rankings this week. This season, Maryland will face seven teams which are ranked in this week's ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll, including Nos. 2, 3 and 4 (Duke, North Carolina and Wake Forest).

    * Morgan State comes to Comcast Center with a 5-8 mark, including a two-game losing skid with losses at Saint Mary's (76-60 on Dec. 28) and at Washington (81-67 on Dec. 30). The Bears own a victory over DePaul of the Big East Conference, winning 79-75 in Chicago on Dec. 10. Morgan State beat Coppin State, 62-48, in its MEAC opener at home on Dec. 6.

    * Sophomore guard Reggie Holmes leads Morgan State with a 14.3 points-per-game scoring average, and is the only MSU player averaging in double figures. He comes into the game with 32 three--pointers in 13 games.Redshirt freshman Kevin Thompson is Morgan State's leading rebounder, averaging 6.9 boards per game. Senior Marquise Kately (9.8 ppg) and junior Jermaine Bolden have started all 13 games for the Bears so far this season.

    Maryland Head Coach Gary Williams

On what his team needs to do to be successful against Morgan State:

"I just want to keep playing like we are. We're moving the ball well, and guys are getting good looks. We have good shooters if we can get open looks. It's been our passing that has allowed us to get open looks, and you have to stay after that. That can come and go very quickly, so you just work hard every day in practice at running your offense. I think we've gotten to be a better half-court offensive team as time has gone on."

On forward Dino Gregory's importance against a team like the Bears:

"He's very important to us. He gives us a 6-foot-7, 6-foot-8 athletic player who can rebound. It's big for us tomorrow night. [Morgan State] is ridiculous in terms of their offensive rebounds. They've out-rebounded their opponents offensively by 223 to 153. They're a very good rebounding team, and they're big."

On his team's ability to maintain a one-game-at-a-time approach:

"They've done a good job with that. Each game we've played so far this year, there hasn't been any looking past to the next game. Hopefully that will continue tomorrow night. These guys have been good in terms of trying to figure out what we have to do to win games, and they've worked at it every day. Anything like looking ahead, that takes away from your ability to work hard in practice."

On if guard Sean Mosley is excited to play against an opponent from near his hometown:

"I think he's excited to play. I don't think Sean is the type of guy who needs a local team to get excited. He was excited after the game against Charlotte, during which he really played well. It wasn't just the shots that he made. He played very well offensively and defensively. He brings a lot to a game and a lot to the team with his attitude. He doesn't have any bad days. In other words, when he walks between the lines, no matter what happened during that day, he's ready to go. That's contagious, so it's good to see."

On his team's unselfishness so far this season:

"I just look at this team, and I know what we're doing as a team. We've really worked hard together, we've stayed together and I hopefully that'll continue for the second half of the season. The theme we've had since last spring is that we have to be a team this year. If we're going to be successful, we have to be a team. It's not going to one guy that carries us. It's going to be playing off of each other and helping each other get easy shots."
