500 Club: Greivis Vasquez recorded the 500th rebound of his career against Fairfield. He is the 38th Terrapin all-time to record 500 rebounds in his career, and the only Maryland player to have 500 rebounds and 500 assists in a career. Vasquez has 502 rebounds in his career, which ranks 37th in Maryland history, and 583 assists, which ranks fourth.

More Vasquez: After posting 13 assists in the season opener against Charleston Southern, two off his school record of 15, Vasquez continued to get his teammates involved against Fairfield. Vasquez finished the evening with a team-high six assists, giving him an average of 9.5 assists per game through two games.

Running Away: Maryland found itself trailing 12-7 early in the first half, and then ran off a 15-0 run to recapture the lead, one it wouldn't relinquish for the rest of the game.

101st win: The Terps added to their already stellar record at Comcast Center. Last Friday's win over Charleston Southern was the 100th all-time at Comcast, and Maryland now holds a 101-24 record in the history of Comcast Center.

Defensive Intensity: Maryland forced Fairfield into turnovers on five of their first six possessions of the game. Sean Mosley had two steals and Greivis Vasquez one during the stretch. Fairfield's lone possession sans a turnover during the more than three-minute stretch was a missed 3-pointer by Derek Needham. Maryland's defense forced Fairfield into 25 turnovers in the game.

Hayes Has Hot Hand: Guard Eric Hayes helped get the Terps to a 22-12 lead in the first half, scoring 10 of the team's first 22 points. Hayes went 4-for-6 over that stretch, including 2-for-2 from 3-point range. Hayes finished the game with a team-high 14 points. He has now scored in double figures in seven straight games dating back to last season, the longest such stretch of his career.

Hayes 7th all-time: With two 3-pointers in the game, Hayes has now made 137 3-pointers in his career, moving past Sarunas Jasikevicius (1995-98), who had 136. That ranks him eighth all-time in Maryland history.

Double Figures: After five Terps scored in double figures in the season opener, three did it against Fairfield. Hayes led the team with 14 points, Mosley had 13, and Landon Milbourne finished with 10.

Rebounding Advantage: The Terps finished the game with a 41-36 rebounding advantage, including a 16-12 edge on the offensive boards. Milbourne led the team with eight boards, while Hayes and James Padgett chipped in seven apiece.
