Head Coach Gary Williams - 12/10/09

On the return of Dino Gregory:

"Dino Gregory is back and eligible. We're looking forward to him playing... Players like Dave Neal and Dino Gregory give things to the team that are difficult to put a value on, but they're very important to the team. With Dino, it's effort every day in practice. The same effort he shows in the game. It's a player that wants to get better - Dino's a much better player than when he came here as a freshman. His tenacity down the stretch last year in the NCAA Tournament and the ACC Tournament, the game against North Carolina things like that, were a big factor in our team's success... He fits a lot of the categories that don't really show up on a stat sheet."

On the play of Greivis Vasquez:

"I think Greivis has proven he's a great player. He led us in points, rebounds and assists last season, and he's the only player in the history of Maryland to do that. If he would just allow that to happen sometimes, it happens. Basketball is a funny game; I don't think I ever coached a player that who was our best scorer who didn't lead our team in scoring. The ball seems to find those guys. I think with Greivis, it will happen. He just needs one game to break out. I'm very confident in Greivis of his ability and that it will happen. This could be another situation where Dino's return helps Greivis."

On the play of Sean Mosley:

"He's an intelligent person. Good players figure out ways to score within the offense and find what works for them. Sean's a sophomore who's on his way to becoming a very good basketball player. He had a great game against Villanova and he's played very well for us. He's shot the ball very well. You hate to talk about that but he's put in a lot of time on his shot. He's earned the right to be a better shooter, it's not just an accident. Hopefully he keeps improving. Part of it is Sean's intelligence and being able to see where to get open on the court."

On Jordan Williams' free throw shooting:

"He looks like he should be a good shooter facing the basket. There's no flaw with this shooting stroke. I think sometimes the focus in college is a little different than a high school game. You play in front of 15,000 and that changes the free throws. Guys have to get used to that. I think he went through that a little bit. He's been working hard at it. What you do is you give them a couple tips and sometimes those aren't even basketball-wise, but getting him into a routine where he's focused on each free throw. In high school, Jordan shot 25 free throws each game after guys were just hanging on his arms. He has to understand he might only get five free throws now, and he's got to try and make four of them. So that's a little different of a situation than what he's used to."
