Terps Compete in Florida Relays

D'Ambour Lewis, Melony McKay, Michelle Fedrick, and DeAnna Brown collectively ran 1:36.42 in the 4x200 meter relay for the Terrapins to claim the school record in this event.
The Terps put together a second strong relay performance on Saturday, as McKay (55.03), Kiani Profit (56.0), D'Ambour Lewis (55.5) and Michele Fedrick (53.3) combined to go 3:40.03 in the 4x400 relay, Maryland's best performance in the event in seven years.
Profit qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships with a career-best time of 59.77 in the 400-meter hurdles for fifth place. Senior Chanel Williams also ran well with a time of 1:00.36 in the event which also meets the NCAA Regional standard. Williams also ran well earlier in the 100m hurdles with a time of 14.12.
Lewis ran her fastest time this season in the 100m dash, finishing in a time of 11.86. Both she and Alexis Booker (12.12) hit the ECAC standard in this event.
Senior Ashley Williams finished seventh in the hammer throw and posted a season best of 165-3. On Saturday, Williams posted a mark of 46-5.25 in the women's shot put, earning a spot in the ECAC Championships.
Freshman Tara Miluszewski placed eighth in the women's javelin, going 125-11 in her collegiate debut.
In the 400 meters, Fedrick posted a career-best and NCAA Regional qualifying time of 53.94. This performance was well under the NCAA standard and was the first time that the has broken 54 seconds for the 400.
Profit, Booker, Chanel Williams and Kelley Pry finished sixth in the sprint medley relay in 3:57.52, also on Saturday.
On the men's side, indoor All-American Dwight Barbiasz went 7-0.50 in the men's high jump to finish third and earn a spot in the NCAA regional championships, earning the mark in his first outdoor competition of the season. David Edwards-Brennan cleared 6-8.75 in the same event.
Jason Allen finished eighth in the long jump, posting a mark of 22-10. Tommy Friscia posted a time of 1:52.53 in the 800 meters, the best mark of the season by a Terrapin runner in that event.
Junior Jeremy Samuels ran his career-best and ECAC-qualifying time in the 400-meter dash(47.44), along with Anthony Walker, who also ran a career-best in the event (47.91).
Freshman Zack Ray ran his lifetime best in the 400m hurdles, posting a mark of 53.03 seconds.
Floyd Hawkes joined Ray, Chris Brown and Legonn Haskins in the men's 4x400 relay, finishing third in 3:18.24.
