Maryland Basketball players and coaches recently participated in Zack's Run, a benefit 5K to raise funds to prevent childhood cancer. It was the second straight year the Terrapins have participated in the run.
The race started and finished on campus, outside the Comcast Center. It went over an exciting course which wound through the scenic university campus.
The Terps were led to the line by junior transfer Berend Weijs, who despite his 6-foot-10 frame finished in 21:12, just two seconds off the winning pace of last year's winner, Greivis Vasquez.
Terp times in the event:
Berend Weijs 21:12; Ersin Levent 21:52; Adrian Bowie 22:04; Pe'Shon Howard 23:33; Dino Gregory 24:00; Cliff Tucker 24:47; Sean Mosley 25:09, Jordan Williams 25:28; James Padgett 25:50; Terrell Stoglin 26:44; Mychal Parker 27:29; Ashton Pankey 28:50; Haukur Palsson 59:51 (walked course due to knee injury).
