Tipping Off: Maryland improved to 3-0 with its 89-59 win over Maine ... the Terps have won their first three games five seasons in a row ... Maryland now has three days off before facing No. 5 Pittsburgh in New York.

Good Company: Jordan Williams had his fifth straight double-double (dating back to last season) with 20 points and 11 rebounds against Maine. He is the first Maryland player to accomplish that feat since Joe Smith in 1995. It is the third time in Williams' career he has scored 20-plus points (second this season).

Spreading the Load: The Terps had a balanced scoring attack again vs. Maine as 10 different players scored. Eleven Terps scored in the season-opener and eight against College of Charleston.

Freshmen Contributors: Freshmen guards Terrell Stoglin and Pe'Shon Howard continued to play key roles for Maryland. The duo entered today's game combining for 18 points a game and exceeded that today as Stoglin had 14 and Howard had 5. Haukur Palsson also contributed 8 points (6 of 6 free throws).

Balanced Bowie: Senior point guard Adrian Bowie had a good all-around game for Maryland, posting nine points, eight rebounds (matches a career high - also vs. Wake Forest 1/15/08), five assists and no turnovers. Bowie has scored nine points in all three games this season.

Three Straight in Double Figures: Cliff Tucker had 8 of Maryland's first 10 points on 3-for-3 shooting (2-for-2 3-pointers) and had matched his season-high of 16 points by halftime. He finished 4 for 6 on 3-pointers (one shy of career-high 5). Tucker has scored in double figures in three straight games, the first time in his career he has done that.

Cutting Down: Since committing 29 turnovers in the season-opening win over Seattle, Maryland has cut down on turnovers in the past two games. The Terps committed 18 against College of Charleston and had 14 today against Maine. Maine scored just seven points off 14 Maryland turnovers, while the Terps scored 27 points off 17 Maine turnovers.

Tidbits: The Terps set season highs in 3-point field goals made (6) and attempted (15) ... Maryland outscored Maine 34 to 18 in points in the paint and is outscoring opponents 146 to 88 on the season ... The Terps outscored Maine 38 to 10 in points off the bench ... after making just 5 of 18 (.278) free throws against College of Charleston, the Terps made 25 of 33 (.758) against Maine.

Game Trends: After a 3-pointer by Murphy Burnatowski cut Maryland's to 28-23 with 7:19 left in the first half, the Terrapins went on a 17-1 run over the next 3:49 to pull away. Cliff Tucker had had five points in the run, while Terrell Stoglin, Jordan Williams and Adrian Bowie had four each. The Terps also closed the half on a 7-0 run to take a 52-29 lead to the locker room, the largest halftime advantage of the season.
