    Scouting the Phoenix

Elon is coming off a 76-56 victory over Hampden-Sydney on Monday and is 2-2 on the season. Tonight's matchup will be Elon's third game of the season against a team from one of the "big six" conferences, having already played South Carolina (94-79 loss) and Wake Forest (89-70 loss). The Phoenix also own a 99-68 victory over College of New Jersey.

Preseason All-Southern Conference selection Drew Spradlin is tied for the team lead in rebounding (6.0 rpg) and is third in scoring (9.5 ppg). The junior guard was second on the team in rebounding last season and grabbed a career-high 10 boards against Wake Forest on Nov. 20.

Freshman guard Jack Isenbarger, who has come off the bench in all four games for the Phoenix, leads the team in scoring at 15.8 ppg. He is connecting on 51.2 percent from the field, including a .545 mark from the 3-point line.

Elon, picked to finish fifth in the North Division of the SoCon, has taken 109 3-pointers through four games, connecting on 37.6 percent. The Phoenix returned two starters and 11 lettermen from last season, when it went 9-23 and 5-13 in the Southern Conference.
