Storyline

Maryland starts a stretch of five straight games at Comcast Center with a matchup against UNC Greensboro... The Terrapins' next game away from home will be on Jan. 9, 2011.

The Terrapins' only three losses this season have come in close games to teams either currently ranked in national polls or who started the season in the Top 25... Maryland lost to 3rd-ranked Pittsburgh, then-No. 13 Illinois and a Temple team on Sunday night that started the year in 21st.

The Terps lost 64-61 to Temple on Sunday at Verizon Center in the BB&T Classic. Despite the loss, the reserves played well, outscoring the Owls 35-5 in bench scoring in the game. Freshman Terrell Stoglin had 16 points with James Padgett adding a season-high eight points and Pe'Shon Howard finishing with six points and six assists. Maryland outscored Temple 40-32 after halftime while shooting .571 from the floor.

Jordan Williams posted his seventh double-double of the season Sunday against Temple and his third straight. Williams leads the nation in double-doubles so far, sitting atop the list with Kenneth Faried of Morehead State through Sunday's games. Williams leads the ACC in rebounding at 11.7 per game and is seventh nationally on the boards.

Maryland head coach Gary Williams is the 5th-winningest active head coach in NCAA Division I men's basketball with an overall record of 655-369 (.640). He ranks 3rd all-time (2nd active) among coaches at ACC schools with 448 victories at Maryland, and also ranks 2nd among active league coaches with 185 regular-season ACC victories. Williams is the Terps' all-time winningest coach. Williams is only the 24th head coach in history to reach 650 career Division I victories and the 35th at all divisions, including both active and inactive coaches.

Maryland comes into the matchup with UNC Greensboro on a 14-game winning streak at Comcast Center, including five straight this season. The Terrapins won 97-63 last season in a game at Greensboro Coliseum. Maryland leads the all-time series with the Spartans, 3-0.
