COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Johnny Holliday, in his 31st season as Voice of the Terps, was recently honored as one of the most prominent figures in the state.
The Daily Record's fourth annual list of 'Influential Marylanders' features state residents from all walks of life who are influential in a wide variety of ways and settings, ranging from restaurants to professional football to the federal bench to middle school.
The 2010 list includes 60 people -- five in each of 10 categories and one up-and-comer in each category.
The 2010 categories remain unchanged from last year: civic leadership, communications, finance, education, health care, law, philanthropy, real estate, technology and freestyle. The freestyle category is for influential citizens who do not fit into one of the other categories.
Holliday and the rest of the 2010 Influential Marylanders will be honored at a ceremony on April 21 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Grand Lodge in Cockeysville, Md. Tickets are priced at $65 each plus tax and can be purchased at www.mddailyrecord.com or by calling 443-524-8100.
