COLLEGE PARK, Md. - As part of the week leading up to Senior Day on Friday, Feb. 5, Umterps.com will highlight one of Maryland's five women's swimming and diving seniors each day. Today's senior is Laura Wright.

Laura Wright has spent three seasons at Maryland after swimming for Rutgers for two years. Following a redshirt season in 2008, Wright came back with a vengeance in 2009, capturing four personal-best times, three at the ACC Championships in the 100 free (50.15), 200 free (1:48.17) and 200 IM (2:03.77) and one in the 50 free (24.10) in a dual meet against Georgetown. She has also been a constant in Maryland's relay scheme as individually, she helped the 400 free relay (1:39.29) to a fourth-place finish and the 800 free relay squad to a fifth-place finish (7:14.56) at the ACC Championships in College Park. This season, the senior's name is scattered throughout the Terps' top times list. She ranks first in the 100 free (50.72), second in the 200 free (1:50.69) and 200 IM (2:03.95), third in the 50 free (23.47) and fifth in both the 100 and 200 breast.
