Tipping Off: Maryland defeated North Carolina for the fourth time in five tries and the third straight time at Comcast Center. The Terps recorded their largest win over North Carolina since a 96-56 victory on Feb. 22, 2003. Maryland has rolled at home recently, winning three straight games over ACC opponents by 20-plus points and six straight at home overall. Those three victories rank among the biggest wins over an ACC opponent all-time at Comcast.

Vasquez, Vasquez, Vasquez!: Vasquez made a career-high-tying six 3-point field goals in the game, bringing his career total to 205. Vasquez passes Mike Jones (203; 2003-07) for second on the Maryland career list and now trails only Juan Dixon, who made 239 during his career (1999-2002). His ninth assist of the afternoon was the 700th of his career. Vasquez made 4 of 5 3-pointers in the first half and went to the locker room with14 points and six assists. He recorded his second double-double of the season with 26 points and 11 assists. Vasquez finished with only four turnovers. It was Vasquez's 10th 20-point game of the season and his second straight (23 vs. Florida State).
Hot Hand: Eric Hayes and Vasquez combined to help Maryland make its first five 3-point attempts of the game. Hayes hit three and Vasquez hit two. Hayes entered the game 2nd in the conference with a .443 mark from 3-point range, including a .467 mark in conference play. He finished the evening 4 of 5 from 3-point range and 5 of 16 overall for 16 points.
