
200 Free Relay Finishes 10th at NCAAs

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Maryland's 200 free relay finished 10th to lead the Terps on day one of the NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships Thursday on the campus of Purdue University.
Annie Fittin, Laura Wright, Megan Lafferty and Ginny Glover tallied in a time of 1:30.04, good for 14 points and a new school record. Fittin followed that performance by placing 17th individually in the prelims, just shy of a spot in Thursday night's finals. The junior from Sea Girt, N.J., finished with a time of 22.50. Wright, a senior, finished 53rd (23.17) in the same event.
Alisa Kurbatova finished 26th in the 1-meter dive with a score of 262.60. The Terps concluded day one in 20th place in the overall team standings.
As a squad, Maryland will participate in the 200 medley relay while individually Glover swims the 200 free and joins Fittin and Lafferty as a trio of Terps in the 100 back Friday on day two of the championships.
