Maryland finished a stellar 25th overall at the 2010 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships, held on the campus of Purdue University.
Maryland ended day three of the championships with a solid 12th-place finish in the 400 free relay (3:18.17) and topped its 13th-place finish (3:18.46) in the prelims during the morning session. The team of Ginny Glover, Annie Fittin, Megan Lafferty, and Laura Wright competed in a total of four relays in the championships.
Individually, Glover took 26th in the 200 back (1:55.09) which tallied in as a school-record. Fittin and Lafferty represented Maryland in the 100 free, touching the wall 31st (49.59) and 56th (50.44), respectively, in prelim swims.
The Terps combined for 24 points in the championships, the most since 2005 when Maryland sent six swimmers to the NCAAs. Glover, Lafferty, Fittin and Wright racked up honorable-mention All-America honors as members of both the 200 and 400 relays.
"We took some really nice steps forward to where we are looking to build this program," head coach Sean Schimmel, who is in his second season at the helm of the program. "They represented the team and University of Maryland in an outstanding light. They had great composure and they had great racing. They did things smart and they made us all really proud of what they did.
"Starting off with the 200 free relay on Thursday, we were one of only two teams to improve our relay time in the night session - us and national champion Florida. All things said and done, we finished 25th in the country, which is something we should really be proud of really put Maryland on the map."
Maryland returns three of its four NCAA participants next season.
