INDIANAPOLIS -
Maryland point guard Greivis Vasquez was named to two more All-America teams and earned designation from the NCAA as a consensus second team All-American on Saturday.
Vasquez, a senior from Caracas, Venezuela, was one of 10 players picked to the Wooden Award All-America team, and was a second-team selection on the State Farm Coaches All-America Team selected by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.
Based on selections from the various All-America teams in the postseason, the NCAA announced Saturday its consensus honorees as those selected to the most lists. Vasquez was one of six selections on the second team, joining Duke's Jon Scheyer as the lone Atlantic Coast Conference student-athletes on the consensus list.
Vasquez also received national attention on Friday when he appeared on the CBS Early Show in New York City. The Terrapin point guard was shooting hoops with Justin Friedlander of Justin's Quest. Friedlander is a 13-year-old from suburban Maryland who is battling a brain tumor and seeks to make 40,000 baskets to raise money for brain-tumor research.
