Tipping Off: Maryland (12-7, 2-3) snapped a two-game skid with its 79-77 victory over Clemson, which fell to 13-6 (2-3 ACC) ... the Terps improved to 10-2 at home this season ... the Terps entered the game with +5.8 rebounding margin which ranked third in the ACC. Clemson out-rebounded the Terps 38-33, marking Maryland's first victory of the season when losing the battle of the boards (0-5 entering today) ... the Terps connected on 65 percent of their free-throw attempts which is slightly above their season average (63 percent). However in the final 2:00 of the game, Maryland connected 10 of 13 attempts (77 percent), which included an intentional miss by Cliff Tucker in the final 2 seconds.
Balanced Attack: Four Terps - Jordan Williams (16), Cliff Tucker (15), Adrian Bowie (13) and Terrell Stoglin (13) - scored in double figures. It marked the eighth time this season, including the first in ACC play, four or more Maryland players have reached double digits (6-1 record entering today). Williams has scored in double figures in 13 consecutive games. Stoglin reached double figures for the first time in the last five games. Tucker has scored 10 or more in seven of the last eight contests.
Alone at the Top: With 16 points and 11 rebounds, Jordan Williams recorded his 13th consecutive double-double, eclipsing Len Elmore's school record of 12 set at the end of the 1974 season.
Changes to the Lineup: Maryland utilized a new starting lineup for the second straight contest and fifth time this season. The Terps started Pe'Shon Howard, Sean Mosley, Cliff Tucker, Dino Gregory and Jordan Williams in Thursday's Virginia Tech game. Today's opening lineup featured Mosley, Williams, Adrian Bowie, Terrell Stoglin and Haukur Palsson who made first-career start.
10 or More: Senior Adrian Bowie, back in the starting lineup today, scored in double figures for the fourth straight game and seventh time in the last eight contests. Bowie had 13 points and chipped in five assists and just two turnovers.
Tidbits: The Terps hit six 3-pointers in the opening half which tied a season high for any half ... Maryland was efficient from the 3-point line, connecting on 8 of 14 attempts (57 percent). It was the Terps' second most efficient performance of the season (60 percent/9 of 15 vs. NJIT) ... Jordan Williams was just 4-for-9 from the free-throw line, but 2 of 2 in the final 2:00 of the game ... Maryland, which came into the game fourth in the ACC in turnover margin (+2.3), posted just 10 turnovers. That was tied for the fourth best effort by the Terps this season (three times - 9; one other at 10).
