COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Postgame notes following Maryland's 71-62 victory over UNC Wilmington.

-- Maryland won its 10th straight season debut... Maryland has won 35 consecutive home openers... The last loss in a home opener was to Notre Dame in overtime on 11/27/1976... The Terps are 75-17 all-time in home openers in College Park... Maryland improved to 3-0 all-time against UNCW.

-- Four players in Maryland's opening lineup were starting for the first time in their career: freshman Nick Faust, redshirt freshman Ashton Pankey, sophomore Mychal Parker and junior James Padgett. Senior Sean Mosley made his 77th career start.

-- Sunday's game marked the debut of head coach Mark Turgeon, who is the eighth head coach in Maryland basketball history. He is only the fourth coach the Terrapins have had in the past 43 seasons, since Lefty Driesell became the new coach of the Terrapins in the 1969-70 season.

-- James Padgett reached double figures in scoring for the fourth time in his career with 12 points (6-of-7 shooting), which is a career high (previously 10). The junior also added seven rebounds, six of which were on the offensive end.

-- For the fifth time in his career, Terrell Stoglin scored 20 or more points. The sophomore finished with 22 on 6-of-16 shooting, including 10 of 11 free throws. He also matched a career high with four rebounds.

-- In just his second career game, redshirt freshman Ashton Pankey finished second on the team with 13 points and had a team-high eight rebounds. Pankey made 5 of 10 shots and all three of his free throws.

-- Three players made their Maryland debuts: Nick Faust, John Auslander and Jonathan Thomas. Faust contributed seven points, six rebounds, three steals, two assists and a block.

-- The Terps have won 12 straight non-conference home games and are 78-7 at Comcast Center in non-conference contests. Maryland is 18-1 in its last 19 non-conference home games.

-- Maryland outscored UNCW in the paint, 42-16... the Terps also had the edge in points off turnovers (17-5) and second-chance points (15-7)... after Maryland went on an 8-0 run to break a 15-15 tie capped by Terrell Stoglin's layup with 5:07 left in the first half the Terps never trailed... Maryland didn't connect on a 3-pointer (0 of 9).
