SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - Terrell Stoglin scored 25 of his career-high 32 points in the second half to lead Maryland to a 78-71 victory over Colorado on Friday in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.
Stoglin tied the single-game tournament record with 12 field goals, including 4-for-7 on 3-pointers, and keyed the run that put the Terrapins (2-1) ahead to stay. Sean Mosley added 16 points and Nick Faust 15.
Andre Roberson had a double-double for the Buffaloes (1-2) with 21 points and 13 rebounds. Carlon Brown scored 14 points and Austin Dufault 12 for Colorado, which led by 12 in the first half.
Roberson gave Colorado a 60-56 lead with 8:25 left. But Stoglin scored eight straight to finish an 11-0 run that put Maryland ahead 67-60 with 6:01 to play.
The Terrapins hit 49 percent (27 of 55) and shot 52 percent (11 of 21) from 3-point range.
Stoglin's previous career-high was 28 points set on Feb. 27 at North Carolina. The last time a Maryland player had at least 30 points in a game was on Feb. 27, 2010 when Greivis Vasquez scored 41 in a double-overtime win at Virginia Tech.
Maryland will play Iona for fifth place Sunday at 2 p.m. EST on ESPNU. Colorado will face Western Michigan for seventh.
