Video: Interview with Larry Brown

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - The University of Maryland men's basketball team had a special visitor last week when Hall of Famer Larry Brown stopped by to pay a visit to his former point guard Mark Turgeon.

Brown, the only coach to win both a NCAA National Championship (Kansas in 1988) and a NBA title (Detroit, 2004) was able to attend practice with the Terrapins, making some suggestions on the second day he watched workouts at Comcast Center.

Turgeon played for Brown for four seasons at Kansas, then became an assistant coach. The Jayhawks won the NCAA title in Turgeon's first season as an assistant under Brown.

The two coached together again in the 1997-98 season when Brown added Turgeon to his staff of the Philadelphia 76ers.

"It was great having Coach here," Turgeon said about Brown's visit. "He's one of the reasons I'm here at Maryland and he's always been very supportive of me. I really think that Maryland Basketball has added a great fan in Coach Brown."
