Tipping Off: Maryland improved to 17-10, including 6-6 in the ACC... the Terps are now tied for sixth in the conference standings with Boston College ... Maryland leads the all-time series with NC State, 75-72, and has won the last eight against the Wolfpack ... neither team led by more than five in the second half until the last five minutes when Maryland went on a 8-0 run to take a 79-71 lead with 3:00 left in the game ... the Terps shot a season-best 58.2 percent from the field.

High Above the Court: Former Terp Greivis Vasquez was honored in a pregame ceremony as his No. 21 jersey was raised to the rafters in Comcast Center. Vasquez, now playing with the NBA Memphis Grizzlies, ended his career at Maryland last season as the school's second-leading scorer with 2,171 points. Arguably the most versatile player ever at Maryland, Vasquez is the only player in Atlantic Coast Conference history with 2,000 points, 700 assists and 600 rebounds. Voted the ACC Player of the Year in 2010, Vasquez also was honored as a senior with the Bob Cousy Award, symbolizing the top collegiate point guard in the nation. Vasquez is the 16th player and 17th Terrapin to have been honored with a banner in the Comcast Center rafters. A banner honoring head coach Gary Williams also hangs above the court.

First Final Four Team Honored: At halftime, Maryland celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the first team that reached a Final Four in school history. Assistant coach Jimmy Patsos, as well as players Calvin McCall, Mike Mardisich, Tahj Holden, Byron Mouton and Chris Wilcox were in attendance to honor the 2001 Final Four team.

Stoglin Shines: Freshman Terrell Stoglin has scored a career-best 25 points in each of the last two games. He also set a career high with nine assists against the Wolfpack.

Starting Lineup: Maryland used a starting lineup of guards Terrell Stoglin and Pe'Shon Howard, along with forwards Cliff Tucker and Dino Gregory, and center Jordan Williams. It marks the first time this season the Terps went with that starting five and the just the second time in the last three years Maryland has opened a game with two true freshmen (Stoglin and Howard). Stoglin and Haukur Palsson started vs. Clemson on 1/22/11. Prior to that, the last time Maryland started a pair of true freshmen came vs. Wake Forest on 1/15/08 (Tucker and Brandon Dupree).

Gregory on a Roll: Senior forward Dino Gregory posted the third double-double of his career (all this season) and hit twin figures in the scoring for the fourth-straight game with a career-best 18 points. He also chipped in 10 rebounds. Over the last four games, he has averaged 14.8 points and 7.8 rebounds.

Tidbits: The Terps attempted a season-low one 3-point field goal (previous low: 0-for-6 at Georgia Tech, 1/30/11) ... this is just the second time this season the Terps have not connected on a 3-pointer ... Jordan Williams scored 26 points which is just one off his career high (27 vs. Wake Forest, 2/5/11 and vs. BC, 12/12/10).
