BLACKSBURG, Va. - All-American Kiani Profit led a solid effort for the Maryland men and women's track and field team Friday, the opening day of the non-scored Virginia Tech Elite.

The Terps posted three top 10 finishes, including a third-place showing for Profit in the long jump (19 feet, 8 inches) and a sixth-place effort for DeAnna Brown in the 60-meter dash (7.55).

Profit also crossed the finish line in 8.47 in the finals of the 200-meter hurdles (sixth-place).

For the men, John Davenport had a 12th-place finish in the 200 meters (22.54) and Max Bruno was 14th in the 800 (1:55.75).

Action in the two-day meet concludes Saturday.
