Hill's mark on Friday was the best for the Terps under new javelin regulations and was the best throw since 1997.
Also Friday, Kristen Batts had a career-best of 180-5 in the women's hammer, placing second. She became only the fourth Terp ever over the 180-foot mark in that event.
