Opening statement:
"The thing I liked the most tonight we had 28 assists in a game like that. We had some really unselfish plays in the second half when we'd gotten a little sloppy. I thought our guys really looked for each other, did a job of that. I didn't think it would to be quite like that. We got off to a good start and stayed tough. Obviously, some guys had to play because of Jordan [Williams'] foul trouble. It was a good win for us and it gives us a chance because I don't think anybody played more than 25 minutes. We can really come in and practice well, go hard tomorrow, starters won't be tired, so that's a good thing."
"Longwood applied for Division 1 status which is really tough because they only have three or four games left and you have to play when other teams want you to play. When they get into a conference the situation completely changes for them. That's what they're trying to do now. The next step after applying for Division 1 status is to get into a conference. Hopefully that will happen."
"I thought Pe'Shon [Howard] gave us the start with energy. Hawk [Haukur Palsson] coming off the bench provides more energy coming off the bench and that's good to see. Adrian [Bowie] start, while it wasn't one of his spectacular games or anything, but he's out there playing, he's playing good defense. That becomes very important. Adrian's that way for the guards, Dino [Gregory] is that way for the inside guys. He gives us a starting player out there who can hit shots and both those guys are playing better ball now as seniors."
On the assists:
"I think you want to get better as the year goes on. You try and improve. New players especially know the offense better by now so they can see things better. You still have to make shots. It's one thing to make the pass but we finished off some really good passes tonight. I think that was a key also."
On Sean Mosley:
"He was open. You don't want to hesitate in those situations, you want to take those shots and I think Sean is gradually starting to play better. I thought he played better on Saturday so it's starting to come. So it's a good time of the year."
On how the last two games have improved them:
"It's nice that we beat Wake [Forest] and you take something out of that because they had beaten Virginia two games before that. I thought we played well tonight. It's a little difficult to tell. But we'll know Saturday. In other words, we've been a great road team this year. We've played well. We've had a lot of resolve on the road. We haven't always shot it well but we've played enough defense to keep us in there. Hopefully we can continue to play good defense. When you go against a team like Boston College, they beat us down here and basically I think they scored 30 points from the 3-point line. When we go up there we can probably shoot better, they have shot better from the three-point line. We have to play better defense. So we'll see where we are."
On his play:
"My teammates were finding me in good places and I was hitting the shots. I was getting rebounds and to the basket. Everything fell into place for me tonight."
On what's changed since they last played Boston College:
"Back then we were a totally different team. We were really young and everybody has matured on this team. We are playing together more. Hopefully we will get a good outcome up there."
On the importance of the Boston College game:
"It's a huge game. Both of us are fighting for an NCAA spot. Going up there it's going to be a tough game for us. Their crowd is good. They are a good team with a good coach. It's a really big game for us."
On Terrell Stoglin and Pe'Shon Howard:
"I love playing with both of them. They are good point guards. They are young but they are both maturing very fast. I feel more and more comfortable playing with them."
On the difference between Terrell Stoglin and Pe'Shon Howard:
"I would say that Terrell [Stoglin] is more of a scoring point guard, but he still gets his assists and controls the team. Pe'Shon [Howard] does more driving and kicking but he also has the ability to take it to the rim.''
On Dino Gregory:
"He is always consistent which is big for us. Today he had a double-double. He is more of a leader on the team. He tells us to go hard in the huddle and other things that people can't always see. It's always good to have a teammate that plays consistently."
On the team's recent stretch of games:
"I would say that we are trying to get on a roll now. We [won] five of six in our last six games. It's always good to keep improving this time of the season. It's always good to win games like today. It's a confidence booster and we feel like we are going in the right direction."
On his defense:
"I always get my game started on the defensive end of the court. That's one thing that I want to do for my team. I came out aggressive today on both ends of the court. I want to be aggressive each and every game. I got to the foul line a little bit earlier and that got me in a rhythm."
On the final stretch of the season:
"We came in and worked hard tonight preparing for Boston College. As far as our stretch we know it's going to be tough. We want to take it one game at a time, play 40 minutes hard every game. We know it's not going to be a cake walk. It's going to be tough competition. Everybody that comes in needs to give 110 percent effort. We have to maintain the things that we did tonight. We had 28 assists tonight. It was an overall good win for us and we need to take this win and build off of it."
Longwood Head Coach Mike Gillian
On what his team was able to do well tonight:
"Really not too much of anything, and I think that's a product of what they're capable of doing. You know we did have a gameplan, to try and take Jordan Williams out of the game, if you can take a guy away that is that important to what they do out of the equation. You can get other guys to maybe not play as well as they're used to. I think we did that pretty well in the first half, the problem with that is they shoot 19 threes in the first half, and they get a lot of offensive rebounds. So if that's what you want the other team to do, and they do miss some shots, you got to come up with the rebounds and that will give you a chance."
On what he can take away from this game for the rest of the season:
"You know this one (game) at this time of year, it has its own qualities. Not really a whole heck of a lot to walk away with at this point, we had the situation with Virginia Tech and we came out with a lot of positives out of that. But that was two weeks ago, where this sits now, we're coming off a couple tough road losses and we have another road game on Saturday so it's just put it behind you and move on to the next one."
