RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State rallied from a 5-3 deficit with a pair of runs in the sixth inning and went ahead with two more in the seventh while keeping Maryland scoreless over the final four innings to clinch the weekend series with a 7-5 victory on Sunday afternoon.

Led by Ryan Holland's 3-for-4 effort, Maryland outhit NC State 13 to 11, with Austin Kilbourne, Tim Kiene, Alex Ramsay and Korey Wacker chipping in two hits apiece.

The Terps (20-27, 5-19) overcame an early 3-0 deficit with two runs in the second and three in the fifth, but the Wolfpack (26-19, 11-13) put together a rally of its own while reliever Ethan Ogburn kept the Terps in check. Ogburn tossed four innings of scoreless relief, spreading out five hits while striking out two without issuing a walk.

Brett Williams, who went 3-for-5 with three runs and three RBI, had run-scoring singles in the sixth and seventh innings, providing the go-ahead hit when he drove in John Gianis in the seventh. The Pack's Harold Riggins also went 3-for-5.

After falling behind 3-0, Holland had pulled the Terps within one with a two-run homer in the third inning, and a three-spot in the fifth gave Maryland the lead.

Ramsay led off the fifth by singling up the middle and Jake Stinnett drove him in with a double to right-center field to tie it. After Korey Wacker moved Stinnett over to third with a sacrifice bunt, Alfredo Rodriguez drove him in with a sacrifice fly for a 4-3 lead. Kilbourne later drove in Holland with a single to right field to expand the lead to 5-3.

NC State, however, tied it on a bases-loaded walk in the sixth and went ahead on RBI singles from Williams and Pratt Maynard in the seventh.

Ogburn (5-2) was credited with the win, while Charlie Haslup (0-1) was pegged with the loss after allowing two runs on three hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Maryland returns to action on Tuesday, when it plays host to Towson at 7 p.m. The Terps then travel to play at Towson on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
